With Headquarters at Barrackpore in the district of North 24 Parganas in West Bengal Ramakrishna Vivekananda Mission is a charitable and philanthropic society registered under West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1961, recognised and aided by both the State and the Central Governments.. It is at a distance of 25 km. from the city of Kolkata, has 23 centers in five states of the Country and also one in the United Kingdom. He spoke, Education, education, education alone! Travelling through many cities of Europe and observing in them the comforts and education of even the poor people, there was brought to my mind the state of our own poor people, and I used to shed tears. What made the difference? Education was the answer I got. Accordingly the Mission has established a number of schools upto Secondary standard, a B.Ed.
